Rick Everingham is one of Queensland’s leading contemporary representational painters.

Born in Sydney in 1945, but living in Brisbane since 1968, Rick has progressively established himself as a successful and respected artist. He works mainly in acrylic and oils, painted on either board of canvas.

Earlier in his career he was best known for his urban landscapes and still life paintings, then came many years of sensitive and subtle figurative paintings of children. There has also been an extensive series of beach paintings and other subjects involving reflections in water.

Since 1991 his subject matter has been drawn almost exclusively from the central regions of Italy. Now working from his studio in Tuscany, this Italian series is continuing, but the Mediterranean theme has been widened with the addition of paintings from the Greek Islands and France.

The most recent works have subjects consisting of a mixture of images, still mainly in acrylic and oils, but calling also on a variety of techniques of various media.

A long-standing interest in sculpture is now being brought into form with commencement of a series of works in stone and bronze.

Current paintings and sculptures available can be viewed at his web site rickeveringham.com.au
