Adam Geczy visually examines aspects of personal and political history through a wide range of mediums including video, photography, printmaking and painting.
He has produced a number of critically significant works throughout his artistic career and amongst the most notable are his collaborations with other artists.
Geczy's imagery can be intensely unnerving and visually confrontational while at other times, it evokes a stirring sense of grace and gentle intimacy. The sparse architecture of historic sites, the moody forms of rugged landscapes and the varied characteristics of individual and collective memory are subjects explored in Geczy's recent work.
Geczy regularly exhibits in Europe and Australia. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney and is currently teaching at the Sydney College of the Arts.
