Andrew Curtis captures the ghosts of industry and mass-production, bringing them eerily to life.
By photographing the sci-fi forms of elec-tricity substations and the tough surfaces of prefab concrete slabs at night under harsh artificial light, he transforms these unlikely subjects into solemn, Wagnerian stage sets.
Curtis charges anonymous and mundane urban scenes with the poetry of the sublime.
Andrew Curtis, who lives in Melbourne, has been working as an artist and commercial photographer for more than ten years, exhibiting his work throughout Australia.
He has received awards from AGDA and the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
