Anne Smith was born in the UK and came to Australia in 1971. She started her studies in 1968 in the UK and continued in Australia, studying and collaborating with artists such as Dan Welden, Jorg Schmiesser, Garry Shead and Wendy Sharpe. Although well known for her colourful and intricate etchings, she has also worked in ceramics and oils.

Anne’s work has appeared in many solo and selective exhibitions, including the Portia Geach Memorial Award and Blake Prize Exhibition. Her works are held in many corporate and private collections in Australia, UK, New Zealand, USA and Japan including the Murdoch private collection (USA) and Newscorp Collection.
