Bing Wu, a talented Sydney-based artist, arrived from Shanghai to call Australia home and made her artistic mark since 1995. Although she gained bachelor degree in electronics engineering, Bing determined to pursue her dream and devoted herself into artistic endeavour and has never looked back since. Bing's artworks are admired greatly for her use of vibrant colour in capturing the beauty of harbour, urban Cafe and voluptuous nudes with hint of exotic flavour.
Bing has a love for drawing from early childhood and since coming to Sydney, has completed an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts and studied in Julian Ashton Art School. Always keen to share her love, joy and knowledge of art with others, Bing has been teaching art at The Parramatta College and Bankstown Community College for the last 6 years.
Since 1995, Bing has entered many art exhibitions and competitions around Sydney. Her limited editions of silkscreen prints "Joy" exhibited in Penrith Regional gallery and as part of permanent collections of TAFE NSW commission. Later, these two images also were used in TAFE NSW Christmas greeting card.
In early 1998, her selection of figurative drawings won "Robert Le Gay Brereton drawing prize" from the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Bing has been selected by Artist Palette Magazine as a Featuring Artist of her artworks and drawing demonstration in May issue of 2002. She was one of the finalists in the Blake Prize for religious art exhibited in State Library of NSW.
Bing's artworks are represented in private and municipal collections in Australia including Wesley Institute, TAFE NSW Commission, formal Olympic Swimming Champion Mark Tonelli and Daryl Melham of MP, one of her large works won the People's choice in Real Refuse exhibition in Tap Gallery in 2003.
Bing's works are also selected as finalist in Mosman Art Prize, Alice Bale Travelling Scholarship and Hill Grammar School Art Show.
