Christine paints abstract/semi-realistic works influenced by the harbour, ocean and myriad waterways that surround us in Sydney - its working harbour, docks, piers, jetties and tidal pools, with their weather worn timbers, peeling layers of paint and glistening reflecting light.

She is drawn to the organic shapes of pebbles, sand and rock. Her approach is spontaneous and instinctive and she uses a variety of materials and tools and is most recently exploring the inclusion of found objects in her work - leaves, shells, seaweed and crockery she has discovered along the shoreline.

In contrast to her uncomplicated approach to the actual painting process, she names her paintings in a "dictionary entry" style - so formal and exact it is an amusing discrepancy.

Christine has been working under the directorship of Annette Pringle as part of the "Edge" atelier and has exhibited successfully as part of that group and independently.
