Flamenco Artist - Born 1967 from migrating parents Marina Lee Phillips (Artist name Marina Lee Tamayo) was born in Adelaide Australia. Marina has studied and performed Flamenco for 25 years. Marina started dancing professionally in Australia performing Flamenco Cabaret regularly between 1980 - 2000. Not soon after leaving her home town Marina embarked on an international career. Marina has since studied with many of Spains Great Flamenco Artists and has continued teaching and performing internationally. Although Marina is a freelance artist she does have studios in both Australia and SPAIN. Marina has a rich family bloodline of andalucian artists. From famous poets, guitarists, actors, painters, writers and dancers. Some of Marinas direct relatives include the great late Manuel Cano Tamayo,Spanish Guitarist Granada, Manuel Torres Fernandez - Poet Granada (published works), Carmen Contreras Nievas (published works)Painter - Granada, Rosita Tamayo Guerrero Poet Granada(published works). Her family have all influenced this innovative, passionate successful artist throughout her artistic life.
Marina has collaborated with many outstanding Australian artists in both Theatre and Film and is involved in all genres.Marina has an education in Classical Music including studies of folkloric Panderieta, Castanets and music composition.
Marina has recently returned from the Andes trekking through Patagonia, Chile Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia obtaining an extroadinary collection of photographic works which are being prepared for exhibition.
Marinas works for Theatre are abstract, innovative and work with the fusions of many cultures, movement, colours, multimedia, literature and music styles.
