self taught artist . Born in Darwin N/T Australia- 1956
I've been painting on a off for the past 40 years. I paint from my imagination but sometimes go outside and paint and interpret what I see in the garden or get inspired by a camping trip.I've only had one solo exhibition at a public gallery here in victoria..I guess i've never really tried to get into a private gallery to show my work ( but I should try and do that )I've been in a very small number of group exhibitions in melbourne and sydney .My husband a potter of over 40 years and is very skilful and talented, he has always encouraged my work and has taught me to paint on ceramics we have won a few trade awards for hand painted pottery/ceramics in the 80's and 90's. we used to sell pottery at the st kilda esplenade market during the 70's and went to other markets in the 80's 90's.we have one of our beautiful hand made and hand carved and painted tiled wall on show in the hunter valley N.S.W ..we continue these days to paint and potter on..it would be great to be rich artists..we're rather poor in money here but rich in spirit!
