Nick Hall investigates the link between our relentless pursuit of unchecked urban over-development and the detrimental effect this can have on our environment.
Nick’s sometimes surreal artworks – in this exhibition several depict piles of dead frogs – point to the ongoing loss of habitat these small creatures face; small but critical environmental impacts that often go unnoticed and undetected.
“We have an inherent propensity to deny and repress those things which threaten our happiness,” says Nick.
“I use the processes of painting and drawing to explore the psychological and cultural structures we erect to keep ourselves sane in the face of facts that should otherwise cause panic in a rational mind.”
