Bimblebox: art – science - nature is an exhibition that showcases artists interpretations of the Bimblebox Nature Refuge in Queensland which is currently under threat from coal mining.
A diverse group of Australian artists respond to the threat of coal mining on the Bimblebox Nature Refuge by documenting, drawing and recording the unique flora, fauna and landscape of the site. Their artistic responses capture the environmental, social and scientific significance of this unique place. Artists have also drawn inspiration from scientific research and historical texts. The works include painting, installation, photography, assemblage, artist books, digital media, soundscape and printmaking.
