Geniale Dilletanten (Brilliant Dilletantes): Subculture in 1980s Germany - RMIT Gallery

The international touring exhibition Geniale Dilletanten (Brilliant Dilletantes) presents the most comprehensive survey of 1980s German subculture to date, incorporating an interview film produced especially for the exhibition and presenting the work of artists, film-makers and designers from West and East Germany, as well as seven influential bands including Einstürzende Neubauten, the inspiration for Australian sound designer Darrin Verhagen’s interactive Klangbewegung Maschine which presents an audiokinetic rendering of two classic Neubauten pieces.
