Pittwater Library Art
Made from recycled clothing Groundswell is a suspended installation made from pants of all shapes and sizes. Lots of legs appear to be surging forward, walking and running, and hopefully creating a ripple in the local community.
For the installation, artist Suzanne Davey drew inspiration from the site. Davey states, “ As soon as I saw the Lifeline Centre in Bungan Laneway and its recycled clothing I knew exactly what I wanted to do. To me Lifeline is all about reaching out to life and connecting with others for support. Clothing is all about people and living.”
The aim of the work is to inspire action around building community, connecting with others and activating public space. Keeping in theme with the mood of the festival, Suzanne Davey has created a work which is energetic and optimistic.
A unique partnership between Pittwater Council, Lifeline and Pittwater artist Suzanne Davey has brought an exciting public art project to life in Mona Vale.
