Robyn Cameron’s ink drawings combine her interest in the female figure with her memories of childhood first-hand observations of Japanese calligraphy, packaging and aesthetics. Each drawing is a panel of subtlety and minimal understatement. Calligraphic patterns of seated, crouching, reclining and standing nudes are harmoniously linked to create the effect of an unfurled paper scroll. Each panel fully compliments the others in the exhibition and yet each one stands alone as a powerful unit. They are expressions of Eastern aesthetics seen through the creative and sensitive eyes of a talented Westerner.
