Artefacts from the National Museum, Kabul, Afghanistan.

Presumed lost, the treasures in this exhibition were hidden by the staff of National Museum in in Kabul, despite bombs, looters and a Taliban decree to destroy all ‘idolatrous’ images.

Spanning 2200 BCE to 200 CE, these artefacts are from archaeological sites at the heart of the Silk Road.
