Very rare, beautiful lithographs by Pierre Bonnard, illustrating one of the first novels written by Longus in 300 AD.

Thirty-four original lithographs of young lovers in a pastoral landscape, pirate ships, nymphs and pagan gods. “…an offering to Love and the Nymphs and Pan and a source of pleasure to the human race - something to heal the sick and comfort the afflicted, to refresh the memory of those who have been in love and educate those who have not.” Printed in 1902 by Ambroise Vollard on Van Gelden Holland wove paper, edition no. 231/250.
