Magical Landscape
An exhibition by Beatrice Magalotti & Sharyn Madder
SYNERGY
Opening Drinks: Thursday 5 March, 6 – 8pm
Beatrice Magalotti continues her exploration of meditative stillness within a process of ongoing change. New works include photographs printed with an old salt printing process. Her contemporary sculptural forms are shaped in wood, clay and bronze.
Beatrice’s first major exhibition was held at the Moor Street Art Gallery, Fitzroy in 2002. She has since exhibited on a regular basis and has curated and coordinated exhibitions for many other artists.
Beatrice’s art practise include photographs, sensuous shaped wooden forms and castings in clay and bronze – are aesthetic studies in tone and texture within a wider context of the ebb and flow of the forces and contrasts of nature.
Sharyn Madder has had a long career illustrating educational materials for children and subsequently her drawings and mixed media works show extraordinary skill and depth.
Sharyn’s subject matter is eclectic and diverse.
Her main interest is in representing and interpreting the natural environment, largely from a personal and emotional point of view. Some of the works are carefully detailed representations of a beautiful and fascination world, others more stylized and some simply tongue in cheek.
